East of the Saint Johns River

The next best thing to living at one of Jacksonville’s beaches would be someplace on the Southside or Fort Caroline area. Lots of waterfront homes with the Saint Johns and the Intracoastal Waterway winding through the city. Isle of Palms offers boating enthusiasts an opportunity to have a boat out back and still be close to the beach. Highway 13 runs along the river from the charming San Marco area down to the huge home sites in Switzerland, with the stately Epping Forest along the way. Heckscher Drive to the north, and Fort Caroline Road and Mt. Pleasant on the south follow the river as it flows east to the Atlantic. Many golf course neighborhoods, some of note would be Pablo Creek Reserve, Jacksonville Golf and Country Club, and Deerwood.
